that makes learning to decorate even easier and
more fun! Let our friendly instructors
help you experience the thrill of creating cakes
and treates that will delight your friends and
family--even if you have never decorated before!
Gifts and Gadgets is proud to offer Wilton®
Method cake decorating classes in our in-store
kitchen with Wilton® Certified Instructors
Lynda Steinke, Rachel McDonald, and Joanne
Campbell. Wilton® Decorating Basics,
Flowers and Cake Design, and Gum Paste and
Fondant classes include
four 2-hour lessons, while our cupcake and other project
classes offer an introduction or build up your
existing skills over 1 or 2 shorter lessons.
Comeback
classes are exclusive to independent stores. These
exciting 2 hour classes were created for
students who have completed a 4 week course but
want to learn more ways to make cakes and
desserts spectacular. Comeback
Classes feature exciting techniques for candy,
cute figure-piped animals in buttercream icing,
and amazing royal icing flowers.
With small
class sizes, a comfortable atmosphere, and

The Wilton Method® Decorating
Basics Course is the perfect place to start!
Your instructor will show you the right way to
decorate, step by step, so that you experience
the excitement of successfully decorating your
first cake in a Wilton Method Course. You’ll
understand how to bake a great cake, see how to
make and color icing and learn the best way to
ice the cake. You will also practice the three
fundamentals of decorating, enabling you to
approach each technique the right way for great
results. In addition, you’ll decorate cookies
and cupcakes too!

Basics OR Previous Course 1

| Build on skills you learned in
the Decorating Basics Course. You’ll explore
sophisticated ways to bring your cakes and
desserts to life! Flowers and Cake Design
emcompasses both traditional and contemporary
design. You'll also
learn to create impressive borders, a
basketweave design for the sides of cakes, and
be introduced to gum paste and fondant. Next,
you will learn how to choose colours for your
cake as well as positioning the elements of
decoration--the message, flowers, and
embellishments, borders and side
treatments--which will all impact the final look
and, ultimately, the success of your cake
design.

collection of the best techniques from the two
current classes into a fun and challenging
experience. With rolled fondant and gum paste,
there's no limit to the incredible decorations
you can make for your cakes. These easy-to-shape
icings allow you to create amazing hand-shaped
flowers, beautiful borders, and bold accents. The
confidence you’ll gain as you decorate with
gum paste and fondant will enable you to create
cakes that will add excitement to your family

This class offers an introduction to
techniques for making royal icing flowers.
The sample to the left provides an example
of the types of flowers you can learn to

Elegant Fondant - 2 sessions, 2 hours each
(Prerequisite : Gum Paste and Fondant OR
Previous Course 3 OR Previous Fondant and Gumpaste
)
Learn to make tiered cakes with dramatic
fondant decorations. This is a great
course to practice skills and build
confidence. Dazzle everyone with the
elegant look of a rolled fondant cake.

Cupcake Classes
Learn the techniques necessary
for decorating beautiful cupcakes, suitable for
birthdays, parties, and holiday treats.
Buttercream icing will be used to cover the
cupcakes and you'll learn basic piping and
flower making skills. You bring the baked
cupcakes and take home decorated treats! This
class is suitable for pre-teens (accompanied by
a parent or adult guardian), teenagers, and
those with no prior decorating experience.
